Can you tell us about your current role and key responsibilities?

It’s an exciting time at 10 Strawberry Street and I am fortunate to be in the role I am. I work with the owners of the company on product, sales and distribution strategies within the hospitality segment. All of our strategies are carried out so that we can continue to carry our message of “Simple, Elegant, Affordable” tabletop products out to the hospitality industry.
 

What inspired you to join the company?

10 Strawberry Street has always been about value and, having the opportunity to bring that strong philosophy of good, honest value to the hospitality industry really resonated with me. Today, our motto of “Simple. Elegant. Affordable.” is more meaningful than ever.

What project are you particularly proud of and why?

Anytime the team at 10 Strawberry Street can help an operator elevate their dining experience and create a brand for themselves, it is rewarding and exciting for us. It could be a 50-seat bistro, a large hotel or a cruise ship. Every operator wants a unique image that helps make the guest dining experience memorable while creating and reinforcing their brand. It’s great when we help in achieving that.

 

As the dining experience becomes even more diverse on cruise ships, value and unique presentation become more important to ensuring a memorable meal.

 

What do you need to consider when it comes to providing solutions for the marine industry?

Today, it’s all about the experience. As the dining experience becomes even more diverse on cruise ships, value and unique presentation become more important to ensuring a memorable meal.

If you have products that work in multiple level venues and concepts - but still set each of them apart individually, that is a great bonus; 10 Strawberry Street does just that.


Are there any key opportunities or challenges your company faces at present?

Our challenge is getting an opportunity to tell our story. We know that when operators see the diverse collection of products from 10 Strawberry Street and then realize the great value we represent, we have a chance to really be of help to that operator. Helping the operator improve their profitability by improving their guest experience is what 10 Strawberry Street is all about.

 

The key is to be able to provide that passenger dining experience in a way the adds to the passenger experience and still remain profitable.

 

Can you tell us about any trends in the marine catering industry from 2019? Or what you expect to see in the coming years?

We know that the cruise industry is growing with multiple, large scale vessels coming into service in each of the coming years. We also know that the dining experience is a major consideration of the overall passenger experience. The key is to be able to provide that passenger dining experience in a way the adds to the passenger experience and still remain profitable.

From a tabletop perspective, that’s where 10 Strawberry Street’s great value comes in. We can really help from both the chef’s food presentation and the operational points of view.

Who are you looking to meet and what do you hope to achieve at Marine Catering Expo 2019?

First of all, we are excited to be joining you at Marine Catering Expo. While there our goal will be to tell the 10 Strawberry Street story to anyone who is looking to upgrade their tabletop and buffet service but still wants to be realistic from a “back of the house” perspective.

We understand that there are many levels of dining and that is why we have broadened our collections – to help operators at all levels. Our years of experience in the hospitality and catering business helps us understand large scale feeding in a way that few other companies are able to do. We also understand that there are many influencers in determining what products to use in both tabletop and buffet service. So, whether it is designers, chefs, food & beverage managers, stewards or purchasing managers, we will be looking forward to meeting everyone.

As I said, 10 Strawberry Street is very excited about exhibiting in Miami!
